Session 1 (5-6 pm) will inform high school students and college freshman about possible careers in cancer research. Students will be able to explore research opportunities available to them, and learn the how and why behind cancer research.
Session 2 (7-9 pm) will feature distinguished cancer researchers and cancer fighters who will discuss their experiences with cancer treatment. Attendees will be able to hear about new breakthroughs in cancer research from both the researcher's and patient's perspectives. Community members will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about the best methods of cancer prevention and treatment.
Attendees will have access to cancer research involvement opportunities, including signing up for lab tours, joining volunteer opportunities, and registering for sponsor events.
The event is free, but attendees are encouraged to register and guarantee a seat. Registered attendees are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the session.
