The College of Life Sciences offers two courses for students interested in earning credit for an internship. Students must spend 45 hours on the experience for each 1.0 credit hour they want to earn.

LFSCI 199R:

This is a non-research academic internship (0.5-3.0 credit hours). This academic internship is for those interested in work experience or job shadowing and it does NOT involve mentored research. Students must first find their own internship and make arrangements for hours with the experience provider, then proceed to receive approval from Life Sciences Student Services by submitting the online application. If approved students are required to complete an orientation appointment, submit a 1-2 page Reflection paper, and complete an exit interview. LFSCI 399R:

This is an academic internship (0.5-6.0 credit hours), which must include a hypothesis-based research component. Students must first find their own internship and make arrangements for hours with the experience provider, then proceed to receive approval from Life Sciences Student Services by submitting the online application. If approved students are required to complete an orientation appointment, submit a 6-8 page Portfolio, and complete an exit interview.
