Causes of rarity, emphasizing the consequences of small pouplation size and breeding strategy on fitness parameters, especially reproductive success; ecological and evolutionary genetics of rare plant species; demography, community ecology, and biogeography of rare plant species; patterns associated with rarity and endemism in plant species.
