While not required for all Microbiology and Molecular Biology majors, internships offer valuable opportunities to explore future career paths and gain hands-on experience in the field.

Medical Laboratory Science; MMBIO 496R

The Medical Laboratory Science program requires students to complete MMBIO 496R, which is a semester long internship in a clinical facility.

Professor Eddington meets with students who have already been admitted to the MLS major. He provides general guidance on what qualifies as an internship, helps students find off-campus internship opportunities, and helps students enroll in internship credit for pre-secured off-campus internships.

Finding an Internship

Jackie works with students across all departments, and specializes in helping students find and secure internships. For internship credit enrollment, students will work directly with their department internship coordinator.
