Choose one of the two following prompts.
Prompt One:
- D&C 88:11—And the light which shineth, which giveth you light, is through him who enlighteneth your eyes, which is the same light that quickeneth your understandings.
- Capture an image from your life science experience that illustrates or inspires greater love for God’s work and creations.
- Answer the question: How has your life science experience enlightened your understanding of God’s work and creations?
Prompt Two:
- Matthew 5:16—Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
- Capture an image that illustrates good works that come from the life sciences.
- Answer the question: How has your life sciences experience inspired good works?
Guidelines and Eligibility
- The contest is open to all currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate majors in the College of Life Sciences.
- Submissions open on May 1, 2024, and submissions close on September 30, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. MST
Top submissions will be matted, framed, and displayed in the hallways of the 2nd floor of the Life Sciences Building from July 2025 to July 2026. The printed work will be available for pickup at the start of August 2026. Frames and mats are not included. After six months, the prints will be recycled. Prizes will be awarded as follows:
- First Place: $500
- Second Place: $250
- Third Place: $100
