Biography
Laurel was born at home (like Lynn was) in Grass Valley, California. She was raised in Logan, Utah. She also learned to work hard and make do. She met Lynn in line for a BYU-USU basketball game. They have been fortunate to see and live many interesting places, but Laurel isn’t through yet. Laurel loves nature, but most of all she loves flowers and sea shells. She enjoys floral design and has owned her own small business for 32 years. Sewing, reading, movies, and interior design are among her many interests. She and Lynn love serving in the temple. More than anything else, Laurel loves the Lord and her family. She and Lynn are blessed with seven amazing children and 19 wonderful grandchildren.

Lynn was born in Richfield, Utah. He was raised on a small farm where they raised cows, corn for silage, barley, alfalfa and sugar beets. He learned to work hard and make do. He is from a family of six children, 2 girls and 4 boys. He has incredible genes for long life. His mother lived to 99 and 50 weeks; his father lived to 104 ½. Lynn served a mission to Florida for the Church. After retiring, he and Laurel served a mission to the Tennessee Knoxville Mission, spending all their time in the mountains of North Carolina. He earned a B.S. in Dairy Products Manufacturing and a M.S. from Utah State University in Food Science. After serving two years in the U.S. Army, he received a PhD from the University of Minnesota after conducting his research in The Netherlands. Lynn worked in the food industry for 12 years in Illinois and California before hiring on at BYU as a professor in Food Science, Nutrition and Dietetics. He taught in that department for 27 years (acting as Chair for 9 years). Lynn has invented many interesting and fun food products and continues to experiment at home. He enjoys reading mysteries, BYU sports, and celebrating with Laurel every day.
