  • About the basic scientific ideas behind emerging life sciences technologies
  • About how life sciences technologies can solve global issues in health and disease, energy, pollution, water and food production
  • Meet professionals whose companies are seeking to change the world with life sciences technologies.

The BIO-Innovation and -Entrepreneurship Program

Want to experience life in a life-sciences-based technology start-up company? The BIO-Innovation and -Entrepreneurship Program provides instruction and experience in building a company around a life sciences-based technology over two semesters.

  • Semester I (Fall, 2 credits): Students work as a team to build and develop an external client biotech company. The client company is a real start-up in its early development and based on a cutting edge technology platform. Collectively, the class will act as the CEO and business development team.
  • Semester II (Winter, 2 credits): Students, as small teams, will use lessons learned in Semester I to build a life sciences-based start-up around an idea of their choosing. Focus will be on identifying and validating possible start-up ideas.

Contact the undergraduate assistant (Paul Rogers, paulrog95@gmail.com) for information about how to register for BIO I&E.
