New Associate Deans for the College of Life Sciences
The College of Life Sciences has two new associate deans: Michael Barnes and Eric Jellen.
The College of Life Sciences has two new associate deans: Michael Barnes (left) will oversee teaching and learning, and Eric Jellen (right) will oversee research and faculty development. They will be replacing Brad Neiger and James Porter. Barnes came to BYU in 1997, and has since served as department chair and director of the Master of Public Health program. Jellen has been on the faculty at BYU since 1996, teaching courses in biology and genetics and doing research on chromosomal genetics of oats and quinoa and their wild relatives. He has served as chair of the Plant and Wildlife Sciences Department since 2012.
