New Department Chairs in the College of Life Sciences

College of Life Sciences Dean James Porter named Keoni Kauwe as the new chair for the Department of Biology and Michael Stark as the new chair for the Department of Physiology and Development Biology.

Kauwe's research focuses on better understanding and ultimately curing Alzheimer's disease. Stark researches the genes that regulate the sensory neuron cell fate.

"Dr. Kauwe has the ability to recognize the value of each of the disciplines within the department and will be able to provide fair leadership for all," said Porter. "Dr. Stark is a successful teacher and researcher and will be able to use his experience and example to lead PDBio."
