The Department of Public Health prepares and mentors students to be public or school health professionals who effectively promote health by planning, implementing and evaluating health education interventions related to leading or underlying causes of morbidity and mortality among individuals, families and at-risk populations in global settings.

Students are provided with a broad-based educational experience including both the process and content of public health practice which will prepare them for specific careers in epidemiology, environmental/occupational health, health promotion, or continued graduate training in public health or other health-related disciplines.
