Biography
Dr. Dayton is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Stanford University and an Emergency Physician with Intermountain Health. With over 20 years of clinical experience, he is driven by a passion for improving healthcare through innovation.
His expertise is in digital health, artificial intelligence, and product development, which he applies through roles as a consultant, advisor, investor, and founder with various startups, ventures, and organizations. At Stanford, he co-led one of the first academic-private incubators, piloting and validating new healthcare technologies. He is skilled at executing private-academic partnerships, improving product validation, and communicating across healthcare, business, and technology sectors.
Dr. Dayton holds an MBA from Johns Hopkins University and has pursued executive education in AI in Health Care from MIT Sloan. His training includes serving as the Inaugural Innovation Fellow with Stanford's Department of Emergency Medicine and completing a Biodesign Fellowship at Stanford's Byers Center for Biodesign.
In addition to his academic and clinical roles, he serves as an advisor to Intermountain Ventures and is a life science investor with Frame VC. He is committed to leveraging his skills to make a positive impact on healthcare and knowledge translation.
Earlier in his life, Dr. Dayton served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the North Carolina Raleigh Mission. He and his wife, Angela, are the parents of four children.
