Members' Role
Members collaborate with the committees within the LSLC to achieve internal goals, assist at events, and support the overall mission of advancing the College of Life Sciences and the Dean's initiatives.
Expectations
Members should have the time and financial capacity to attend meetings (in person or remotely) and actively participate in the Council’s work. All members are encouraged to make annual contributions to the college fund to support student engagement in inspiring learning opportunities.
Criteria for Selection of LSLC Members
- Strong ethical principles and demonstrated integrity
- Established leadership and expertise in their professional field
- Commitment to fulfilling the duties of an LSLC member
- Alignment with the values and mission of BYU and an affinity with the Life Sciences field
Ambassadors of the BYU College of Life Sciences
Members of the LSLC serve as ambassadors of the College of Life Sciences, advocating for its reputation, initiatives, and students. LSLC members contribute in the following ways:
- Promoting the BYU College of Life Sciences within their professional networks, personal circles, and college events
- Exemplifying the reputation, prestige, and academic excellence of the school and its programs
- Encouraging others to join and support the LSLC through promotional content and word of mouth
